So this BLOG is out of control. I have never used this many photos for one BLOG, and it may be a tad overkill. It was just so incredibly difficult to choose which images to use. So in some ways I am sorry for how long this BLOG is and in some ways I am not. I guess, Lindsay and Aaron shouldn’t of had such an amazing wedding. Its their fault really.
I have been super lucky this wedding season with the Brides and Grooms that I am getting. Lindsay and Aaron are no exception to that. They started off as clients but quickly grew as friends; at least it sure felt like I was photographing friends.
They had a beautiful wedding, as you will see with the thousands of photos I am posting. Their ceremony was at a church, and I feel terrible I can’t remember the name of it. The sanctuary was beautiful. It had this amazing stained glass that was awesome! Then they had their reception at The Highlands Ranch Mansion. Holy crap! Have you been there? Hands down, it is easily the most gorgeous location you could get married at. Not only is the site it self beautiful, but the staff were incredibly nice and very helpful. I hope I get to shoot more and more weddings at this location.
I can’t thank Aaron and Lindsay enough for hiring me. Getting to do their engagement session and wedding was truly an honor for me, and has set the standard of how all of my shoots should look haha.
Thanks again you guys! You both are awesome, and I hope we get to stay in contact. Hey! If you like these images, get in contact with me and stay connected. You can do that by LIKING my Narrative Imagery facebook page. http://www.Facebook.com/narrativeimagery and check out NarrativeImagery.com
Here goes the madness of photographs. Enjoy!
I have to say THANK YOU to my Second Shooter Kate Ponce! This was our first wedding together and she did such an amazing job! I secretley hope she never moves out of Denver or starts her own Wedding Photography business. haha. Also The DJ Lindsay and Aaron hired was incredible! If you want to have a good GOOD reception you have to get a GOOD GOOD DJ. His business name is DJKiss.Music. Seriously if you don’t hire him for your reception, than your reception isn’t going to be fun haha.
I recently had to travel for work, and it was the worst travel adventures I have encountered yet. On my 3rd plane going to Washington DC, I decided to write a little personal BLOG about pregnancy. So here it is.
The final ten weeks of pregnancy is upon us. It is crazy to look at the last seven months of mine and Amanda’s life. This is a little BLOG that I wanted to write about what I have gone through in the last 30 weeks.
When Amanda first came home and told me she was pregnant, I was shocked. It was interesting timing for sure. When we first got married in 2007, Amanda and I decided that we wanted to wait five years until we started trying to have a baby. Knowing that God could change that plan at any time, I am shocked that we made it as long as we did. We wanted to wait 5 years so we could “be married” for a while. We found out that Amanda was pregnant about two of three weeks after our 5 year anniversary, and she was about six or seven weeks along. I think we both were shocked for a couple of reasons. The first being that we weren’t trying to get pregnant at the time, and secondly, because for our five year anniversary we went skydiving. Twice. We knew then that our baby was a strong baby, and was probably going to be a thrill seeker.
When Amanda told me she was pregnant, I was shocked and excited but all those emotions started to fade away as time past. I don’t think it is any secret that Woman and Men go through pregnancy differently. When a Woman finds out she is pregnant, I think she immediately has a connection with the baby. But for Men, I think it takes a long time for it to start feeling real and for us to have a connection. At least that was the case for me. My wife was unfortunately pretty sick the first 12 weeks, and it wasn’t fun for either of us. During the first 12 weeks, I think we both thought this might be our only child. Then the second trimester came and the sickness went away, thank God. Even though the sickness went away, new and different things started happening to my wife that she didn’t like. Her body started changing in ways that she never would of imagined of. Obviously we knew her belly was going to grow and we I think were mentally prepared for that, but we found out that all parts of the body are affected. I wont get in to details since I value my marriage and would like to eat dinner tonight. With these new findings of body changes it still seemed like this was going to only be our one child. I think about week 17-20 was when things instantly changed for Amanda. It was Christmas morning and Amanda felt our baby for the first time. There were times before then she thought she might of felt her move, but wasn’t really sure if that was her, or gas. Christmas morning was the real deal. I got Amélie headphones for Christmas that Amanda could put around her belly and let her listen to music. As we were waiting to take Amanda’s cousin to the airport, we decided to try out these headphones. I put on Big Swing Face by Buddy Rich and she started to move like crazy. Which was really awesome to hear she likes Jazz. As soon as she started feeling our baby move and right then it seemed the first trimester and the first part of the second trimester was forgotten. From there Amanda started bonding even more with our baby and had a complete different outlook on pregnancy.
It took me quite a bit longer to start making a connection with our little alien. Don’t get me wrong; I was excited from the start about the idea of a baby, and getting the room ready and stuff like that. But it didn’t feel real to me until around week 25-26 and I felt our Baby kick. Right then it was like a light bulb and every thing was real. It seemed right when that happened, I started to make a connection and also started realizing that, “Wow, in a few months we will actually have a baby… and we’re going to be responsible for said baby.” Every night I would come home from work, I would be excited to lay my hand on Amanda’s belly and wait for a little kick from her. I still feel weird about talking to the baby. I realize this is probably not normal at all, but I don’t know. It’s just weird to me. I love hearing Amanda tell me the baby startes moving and kicking when I start talking. That makes me think even though I don’t talk directly in to the belly button that the baby knows my voice and knows whom I am.
I love playing little games with Amélie. There was one night that I was placing my hand on Amanda’s belly and Amélie put her foot, or hand up to where mine was and just pushed against me. It felt like time stopped and we were comparing hand sizes. Who knows what she was really doing, but I like to think that is what we were doing. *New addition- The other night Amélie was going nuts in Amanda’s belly. I started pushing right where she was kicking, and it seemed that we were trying to see who could push back harder. It was so awesome!*
The closer we get to have Amélie arrive the more excited I get. The less I worry about the costs of having a baby and the more I look forward to playing with her. There are nights it that it takes me so long to fall asleep because I will just lay there and think about so many things. What she will look like, what I am going to feel when I first hold her, how much I am going to cry and still feel like a man. I am so excited to read bedtime stories and tell her about the Bible. I am excited for her to ask questions about music and to see if she decides to play an instrument. I am excited to lay in bed with her and watch cartoons as Mommy sleeps in a little bit. I am excited to pick her up from school and get to see the latest art project she made. I often stress about reality of things, the cost of things. But God has brought a peace over me that makes that all go away at the thought of this baby he created for us. I don’t give up control easily, but I know God will take care of us with financial needs and parenting needs.
I am so proud of my wife. She has been such a trooper through everything that her body is doing. She still works fulltime while being pregnant. She is so strong and I am completely impressed with her ability. I am so excited to do this next part of our lives together and I hope that this brings us even closer than we are now.
My first BLOG of the new year! How exciting right? We got so incredibly lucky with the weather for this session. It was such a beautiful day, and everything was perfect. We walked all over Downtown Denver to get as much variety as we could for this session. I had such a great time hanging out with Amanda & Justin. I loved getting to know them a little better before the wedding, and I am so excited to photograph their wedding. They are having their special day up in Telluride Colorado, and its going to be so gorgeous. I can’t think of a more beautiful spot to get married at.
Thanks Amanda & Justin for such a great time during our session. Can’t wait to continue working with the both of you this June!
I always feel completely honored when a Bride and Groom hire me as their Wedding Photographer. However, I felt extra honored when Amanda & Tony hired me. Here is the deal. I have actually known Amanda since she and I were in 6th grade. That was 16 years ago which is crazy to me. I can still picture Amanda with her Gold Braces playing her Alto sax. haha. Amanda, and her Maid-of-honor Heather lived straight up the street from me when we were all in high school. Me and a couple of my buddies used to roller-blade up to their houses and hang out in the drive way. Well, Amanda and Heather legitimately thought they were Buffy The Vampire Slayer. They would chase us all over the neighborhood with imaginary wooden stakes and try to “kill” us. ahh good times.. :o)
It was really awesome to be able to photograph Amanda & Tony’s wedding day. It was a new experience photographing someone I have known for years. Truth be told, I often tear up behind my camera during the Vow part of the ceremony, and the First Dance of most weddings I shoot. This wedding to say the least definitely made my eye’s leak.
This was such a fun wedding for me. Getting the chance to see so many people who I haven’t seen in years was incredible. For example, Her mother Ann, Her Maid-of-Honor Heather, Her Brides-Maid Leslie, and her Makeup Artist Michelle. I had SO much fun hanging out with all of you again.
I only got the chance to meet Tony once before the Wedding. He was one of the most laid back, funniest Grooms I have photographed yet. Some of my favorite photographs from the wedding are of Amanda & Tony laughing uncontrollably with each other. It is so great to see Amanda so so Happy.
Thank you Amanda & Tony for letting me be at your wedding. I hope you guys like the BLOG photos, and can’t wait for you both to see all of your photographs… all 900 of them haha.

I am a little sad that I am all finished with Jenn & Mat’s wedding photographs. I met Jenn and her mother Stella back in January 2012 for the first time. Jenn was actually the very first bride to hire me on spot, which was an incredible feeling. Mat wasn’t able to come to the initial meeting, which I was bummed about, but he sent a very very important question for Jenn to ask me. It was “Mac or PC?” I knew from that question that I was going to like Mat and get a long with him just fine. Just so there is no questions, MAC ALL THE WAY!!!
From the first meeting, I was able to keep in contact with Jenn and Mat pretty often. First talking about their Engagement session. Coming up with ideas, locations and fun stuff like that. And then they wanted to do a quick session a few weeks before the wedding to capture some of the Fall colors, which was so much fun. It was the one day that was really really cloudy and rainy. But we made the best of it, and the photographs came out INCREDIBLE!! and then next was their wedding day.
Their wedding was so much fun to photograph. It was my first Catholic Mass Wedding to photograph. The church was very informative on what, where and when I could take photo’s. haha. The wedding party were all fun to work with as well. I think they made me laugh more than any other party I have photographed.
So why am I sad I am done with their photos? I secretly really enjoy talking to Mat and Jenn and keeping in contact with them. Now I don’t have a “Photo Update” excuses to email Mat and ask him about his thoughts on the newest Apple product that was just released. Now I have to wait for them to start having kids, which I remember hearing often on wedding day, that wont be for 5-7 years. That seems like a looong time to wait to take more photos of this awesome couple.
Thank you Jenn & Mat so so much for giving me such an incredible experience photographing all of your special moments this last year. I hope the both of you had as much fun as I did. When I think back on unique experiences, always your engagement session comes to mind with how insanely crowded Downtown was, and the Purple Taxi photo-bombing us, and the fall session with the awesome weather we had. I hope you guys like the photos I am putting on the BLOG.

Happy Holidays everyone!!!
I am so incredibly happy that Lindsay and Aaron hired me to be their Wedding Photographer. Shooting their engagement session a few weeks ago was so much fun. They both had so many great ideas, with different props, and visions for everything; the 2 hours session was almost not enough time. Lindsay’s mother also came along on the shoot and was so wonderful to have her there. She was so helpful with different ideas, and helping move the props. I truly enjoyed shooting this session, and getting a chance to hang out with Lindsay & Aaron. They are such an incredible couple.
I hope you all enjoy these photographs. Please share this BLOG with your friends, and ‘LIKE’ us on Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/narrativeimagery
Andy & Kate had such a beautiful wedding up in the mountains. It was at The Wild Horse Inn just outside of Fraser Colorado. Driving up to Fraser is one of my favorite drives of all time. It is such a gorgeous pass.
When I think of Andy and Kate’s wedding the first thing that comes to mind is all the people laughing. This sounds weird, right? But seriously, every where you look there was somebody laughing. Everyone was having such a great time, and you could tell that everyone was truly enjoying being with Andy and Kate on their wedding day. I think honestly it’s because that is the kind of couple Andy and Kate are. I am not 100% sure you could ever be in a grumpy mood around this couple. I noticed this when I got to shoot their engagement session back in May. ( BLOG Lo-Hi, Who Knew?) Usually on engagement shoots couples are generally more relaxed and have fun, and then on wedding day a liiiitle stressed out. Not with this couple. They were so laid back and just went with the flow.
One of the more unique things about their wedding is, Andy and Kate really didn’t care too much about having their photographs taken. They pretty much said they wanted us (me and my wife) to capture everyone hanging out and having fun. So that is what we did.

I feel incredibly lucky that Tashae and Tyler found me, and hired me to be their photographer. At the initial meeting, they were telling me about a few other photographers they had e-mailed with, and the Horrendous experience it was. I am a firm believer in treating all of my clients like gold. Um…without clients, I don’t have a business. It is a weird concept, I know. I hope that Tashae and Tyler felt like gold when working with me.I can’t wait to do more work with them.
Tashae and Tyler were so much fun to work with. I would suggest a really random picture idea, and they both would say, “Lets try it.” I LOVED IT! Getting Tashae to lay on a public piano on a very busy Street Mall was so awesome! You can tell in the photos that she was having a good time. I think I even convinced Tashae to do a Trash the Dress session soon!! I keep thinking, what else can I get them to do. haha.
Their wedding venue was so awesome, and unique. IF you are getting married and have a smaller wedding party, seriously give Clock Tower Events a look. The owner Holly is incredibly nice, and seems very easy to work with. I am excited to share all of these photos with everyone. If you like these photos, please go to http://www.facebook.com/narrativeimagery and “like” us! I love sharing my work with all of you, and hope to keep doing more and more.
Thank you Tashae and Tyler so much for the awesome experience! I hope you both love these photos as much as I loved editing them for you.
Marcy & Freddy’s wedding was on July 7th, 2012 (a very popular date). When they first hired me they told me that they were getting married at The Tavern Uptown. I really didn’t know what to expect. My first thought was, “It’s a bar. isn’t it?.” A few months before their wedding my wife and I went to dinner with a couple of good friends. They took us to Steubens restaurant in Uptown. If you have not been, GO!! Get the Chicken.. We were waiting out side, and I looked across the street, and there was the Tavern UpTown. I confirmed my first though of, It’s a bar, and then started filling my mind with how they are going to decorate this place. I am not saying that a Wedding at a Bar isn’t a good thing at all, in-fact the uniqueness of a Bar wedding was pretty exciting. It was just hard for me to picture how it was all going to look. I really had no idea what to expect when I showed up on wedding day. As I drove down the street to find parking, I went super slow by an open door and caught a glimpse of how it was being decorated. I was floored! Just driving by I could see how gorgeous it was going to be. I think my exact words to my second shooter were, “Holy Crap! They did an awesome job!”
Their wedding was so much fun, and beautiful! It seemed that everything was planned so well, that no one was stressed, and everyone truly got to enjoy themselves.
Again, I cannot thank Marcy & Freddy enough for choosing me as their wedding Photographer. They are such a fun couple, and I consider my self lucky to had the experience of working with them. I hope you all enjoy the photographs from their wedding day. Please feel free to leave comments, share on your Facebook, and spread the word about Narrative Imagery!!
